Elementary particle interaction from a Kaluza-Klein scheme
It is well-expected that unifying gravity with other interactions requires a decisive change of perspective on some of our ideas. We can mention String Theory as the most suggestive approach in this direction. Here we are going to focus our attention on the Kaluza-Klein (KK) approach 1,2 (see 3 for a recent review), since it realizes the issue of the unification, without avoiding one of the mos...
متن کاملL-particle and Kaluza-klein World
We present some arguments in favour of that the Kaluza-Klein picture of the world has been confirmed in the experiments at very low energies where the nucleon-nucleon dynamics has been studied. Early predicted L-particle is related to the new scale of strong nucleon-nucleon forces in the spirit of Kaluza-Klein approach. It is shown that KK excitations remarkably describe the experimentally obse...
متن کاملParticle Creation in Kaluza-Klein Cosmology
We exactly calculate the particle number N of scalar fields which are created from an initial vacuum in certain higher-dimensional cosmological models. The spacetimes in these models are the four-dimensional Chitre-Hartle or radiation-dominated universe with extra spaces which are static or power-law contracting. Except for some models in which no particles could be produced, the distribution o...
متن کاملEinstein and the Kaluza - Klein particle
In his search for a unified field theory that could undercut quantum mechanics, Einstein considered five dimensional classical Kaluza-Klein theory. He studied this theory most intensively during the years 1938-1943. One of his primary objectives was finding a non-singular particle solution. In the full theory this search got frustrated and in the x-independent theory Einstein, together with Pau...
متن کاملEinstein–Weyl from Kaluza–Klein
We discuss the Kaluza–Klein reduction of spaces with (anti-)self-dual Weyl tensor and point out the emergence of the Einstein–Weyl equations for the reduction from four to three dimensions. As a byproduct we get a simple expression for the gravitational instanton density in terms of the Kaluza–Klein functions. © 2007 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
